Those (crack of dawn) early mornings can be rough, but the results make it worth it.
You know the upshots I speak of…the second and even third glances from the opposite sex. The increased energy for your daily activities including night’s pleasures. (Just to name a few).
We are often advised to eat healthily and to get enough exercise to wage war on the obesity epidemic.
But What does this mean for us?
Can you become so obsessive over fitness that you resemble the Borg?
A little background…
It involved explorers of the universe being grabbed by android-like beings. These unsuspecting adventurers were forcibly “assimilated.” This means being thrust into an emotionless oneness, losing All identity. “You” no longer exist. The Collective is all.
(Yes, the comparison is a TAD exaggerated)
A bit of patience?
Just keep this image in your mind for reference.
Discover the Rewards of Improved Health and Well-Being…or are you a Borg sell out?

In this post, we are going to analyze the idea of physical fitness usurping our identities.
We are going to discuss how being in shape is changing the way we think, feel, and behave.
We are going to look at the way fitness is altering our relationships with our bodies, our minds, and the world around us.
We are going to address the various benefits of exercising, and lastly, provide some tips on how to start living a healthier and more fit life.
Discover the benefits of a healthy lifestyle!

It’s now an identity. It has become who we are.
According to Fitness Blender, Identity is a highly personal and multi-dimensional component of how an individual views themself.
Whether we like it or not, fitness has consumed our lives. But as stated above, identity is “supposed” to be multi-faucet.
So, is it healthy for us to be consumed by one single thing?
More on that later.
For now, let’s discuss some of the benefits of being a gym goer.
First and foremost, (because who doesn’t think about this?) You look and feel amazing! Exercise supports your heart and enhances your circulation. The expanded blood flow hikes the oxygen levels in your body.
These effects described smacks like the blueprint for every street narcotic. Nevertheless, it is natural and the Coveted High is much more consistent.
You could also seek this “fitness high” over and over for the improvement of your health -not the detriment.
It is no wonder that society Joneses over fitness. Also, no surprise that there is a potent collective of followers.
Does Potent Collective…sound familiar?
Anyway.
The compounded effects of fitness equal more energy.
First, cellular-level transformations happen inside your body when you exercise. Effort prompts your body to deliver more mitochondria within your muscle cells.
Mitochondria are understood as the powerhouses of cells because they produce fuel out of glucose from the food you consume. It also works alongside the oxygen from the air you breathe. Having more of them improves your body’s energy supply.
Since you have a more efficient energy supply, your intellect will benefit.
folks who exercise habitually do so because it makes them feel amazing! They’re more energized during the day, and snooze better in the evening.
Gym rats have sharper memories and feel more relaxed and positive about themselves. It’s also an effective medicine for a lot of everyday mental health problems.
It’s almost like having an unfair advantage, similar to affiliation with this Potent Collective granting superpowers.
Might I also say that being affiliated with The Borg grants a similar perk: Strength, oneness/unity, etc
But getting back to the subject at hand, we need to ask the next question…
Why do we take on this fitness identity in the first place?
(by the way, you know that affiliate link and offer I mentioned earlier, well here it is)

Exploring the Personal Meaning of Our Fitness Journeys

For so many people, fitness has taken on a larger-than-life persona.
It’s no mystery that society has shifted towards being more health-conscious, with fitness being seen as a key ingredient in achieving this.
Being health-conscious without having fitness at the forefront is similar to mashed potatoes without seasoning. It just doesn’t work.
This rise may be since 48% of consumers worldwide make deliberate health and wellness choices throughout their day. These selections are guided by a combination of reasons, such as desiring to live longer, be healthier, or look and feel better.
The Public is much more aware of what they’re consuming and demands that their intelligence is respected.
Buyers are also mandating higher standards from businesses (food manufacturers, retailers, etc.) and anticipate businesses and governments to take an assertive stance on the health and the well-being of the planet and its customers.
So, why is fitness so important to us?
Bottom line.
People want more time to enjoy life. It greatly concerns them to have the limitless possibility of a lifetime cut short.
They often look at fitness as an Elixir, a way to extend and enhance life
Therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise that fitness, consistently applied, can cause life-changing results.
Is it any wonder that a whole identity shift has occurred?
Does it amaze you that so many people submit to this fitness following…to this Potent Collective?
But onto the next step. It’s well and good that our overall health is excellent.
What about the treatment of those in our sphere of influence?
Unlock the Power of Fitness to Transform Your Relationships
In today’s society, fitness is at the forefront of our minds.

We see it in the way we mingle, the way we shop, and the way we act.
We are frequently rated by our fitness levels, whether we are mindful of it or not.
Speaking of socializing, while high on fitness, here’s how it enhances the situation:
Endorphins are your body’s natural opioids: the feel-good hormones that blot out the pain.
Because of these hormones, people feel cheerful after exercise, even following a single session.
The result of working out is constant and is associated with more favorable social engagement, even into the next day.
Better than the effects of a bad hangover, right?
Anyway.
This may be because happier people smile more and smiling people are viewed as more attractive.
for this reason….
The way we relate with others is shaped by our fitness levels. If we are not fit, our dealings could be strained.
Yeah, I know. Seems very superficial. We can’t all be lumped together under this supposed truth, right?
But we are.
How we treat and relate to others has everything to do with how we perceive ourselves. This means if you regard yourself as worthless, your handling of other people will reflect it.
Keeping this in mind, our physical and emotional health is vital. As you should already know, our well-being hinges upon it!
The Benefits of Fitness for Body and Mind
Fitness is more than just a physical activity. It is a way to connect with our emotions and find our purpose.

It is more critical than ever to find a vigorous and passionate connection to our activity.
When we were cavemen, we needed to be physically fit to survive.
Now, however, fitness has taken on a much deeper meaning.
We must be fit not just to endure but to thrive.
The reason wellness has taken on such a profound meaning is that we are no longer in the prehistoric period.
Our context has radically changed, worldwide.
For instance.
The major difference between modern life and the lives of the ancients is in the field of health.
based on one historical record, 300,000 infants died during the height of the Roman Empire. In early society, life expectancy was 25 years, but to reach the age of 70 was a miracle.
Back then you really had to cherish your elders. Even life itself was a precious jewel.
Life expectancy, 25…
Your teenage years would morph from childhood into adulthood instead.
We, on the other hand, are in the age of the 24/7 digital world.
This in turn aids us in multiplying our knowledge.
And as a result, living at a much older age became commonplace.
In 2020, the life expectancy for American men was up to 78 years, adding 1.8 years to men’s longevity. In 2022, the same growth resumed as the CIA gauged the 2022 US male life span at 78.18 years of age.
As technology quickly develops, it’s influencing every factor of our lives, including the fitness industry. There are now numerous ways to get in shape that didn’t exist a few years ago.
This is transforming the way people view physical fitness.
We are no longer restricted by time and physical constraints.
In the past, we had to find a physical connection to our activity to have the emotional and mental affinity that we need to flourish.
For example, if I was a hunter and I was out in the forest, I needed to be in good shape if I wanted to make sure my family ate that day or survived the winter.
But now.
I can go online and find videos of huntsmen doing the same thing I’m doing. And, if I marketed a product correctly revolving around it, I would make the necessary funds to pay the mortgage or rent.
That’s nice and all but life is more than just mere “survival”.
I need an emotional and mental connection with my activity. This means, not only do I need good physical conditioning and the capacity to succeed in the digital world, but I also need a purpose.
(cough! Ahm! here’s another chance to change your life’s trajectory when it comes to fitness.)

Unleash Your True Purpose Through Fitness
We are all seeking to be fit and healthy and many people are turning to fitness to find their true purpose in life.

For some, wellness may be a way to find inner peace and relate with themselves.
For example, yoga or breathing exercises.
Most importantly, do regular physical activity, specifically activities that involve repetitive movements.
This also will help keep you limber. An asset that can not be overstated for “All” forms of exercise.
You know….for your other sources of pleasure.
Moving on.
This will improve your body while your mind is soothed.
As you reach a whole new level of inner harmony, you will find that feelings of stress are replaced by a sense of accomplishment and pride.
For others, it may be a way to find a sense of society and connect with others.
One of the greatest social advantages of exercise is improving social life.
In particular, participating in team sports and journeying in groups enhances empathy and social skills. You can also make new friends and develop new social connections.
This will help compensate for those who may accuse you or maybe even say under their breath, “God! She’s always overly obsessed with being in shape. Get a life!”
Well, now you can show your critics through your actions that you haven’t forgotten how to socialize.
In either case, fitness can be an effective tool to help us find our true identity and purpose in life.
Fitness for thought and the Borg
Fitness has consumed our lives, and it’s no surprise. It has been shown to strengthen our overall health, mental well-being, and even our careers.

physical fitness has become such an integral part of our lives that we often forget the reasons why we started working out in the first place.
Remember I mentioned the concept of becoming so obsessive over fitness that you resemble the Borg?
The answer is yes, but only in the overall “Big Picture” not the fine details.
The Borg, an artificial intelligence empire of cybernetic organisms, and the Potent Collective (fitness movement).
Both are determined in the pursuit of their goals and have the similar objective of relentless perfection.
And both Collectives also provide the means to obtain these ends: enhanced strength, endurance, greater focus, a strong brother and sisterhood…etc
The Borg is also merciless and determined to assimilate, while those immersed in fitness may not be heartless but for everything else….they are twins.
The Potent Collective have their own reasons for actions – to reach their personal apex.
To summarize, with fitness you have a choice in finding balance. You can desire to take time for loved ones. You are not obligated to Always be in the gym.
You can decide to not have your whole world revolve around being fit.
(And you shouldn’t, there is more to life)
You can have multiple passions.
(In fact, you should, we were meant to be multi-faceted)
The Borg have no such choice. There is no world outside of The Collective.
But please, don’t take this as me dictating how you should live.
Go live and thrive on your terms, just bear this “advice” in mind along the way.
